The Denver Broncos officially promoted passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Davis Webb to the offensive coordinator position on Monday, according to the team’s social media pages.
The Broncos also promoted Logan Kilgore to replace Webber as quarterbacks coach. Kilgore previously served as the Broncos’ offensive quality control coach.
Weber is a popular name in this coaching cycle, having interviewed for head coaching jobs with the Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills, but ultimately, he will stay in Denver to continue building what Sean Payton and company started with second-year quarterback Bo Nix.

The news comes as the team fired former offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi just two days into the AFC Championship Game. Lombardi has served as the Denver Nuggets’ offensive coordinator for the past three seasons. Now, Weber takes over.
Weber, 31, has quickly risen through the coaching ranks since his playing career ended in 2022. Weber was a third-round draft pick by the New York Giants in 2017 and has played backup roles with the G-Men, Jets and Bills during his NFL career. In 2022, Webb has made just one start at quarterback in his Giants career.
Webber has since spent the past three seasons under Broncos head coach Sean Payton. He was originally hired as quarterbacks coach in 2023 and added passing game coordinator responsibilities last season after John Morton left.
As a starter, Nix passed for 7,706 yards, 54 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in two seasons. Denver ranked 14th in total points scored and 10th in yards allowed this season, despite a devastating end to the year when Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury, forcing backup Jarrett Stidham to take the field against the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. The Patriots won 10-7.
