Masked suspect in Houston County rape arrested, investigators say

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) – A man accused of breaking into a home and attacking a woman earlier this month has been arrested, according to a news release from the Houston County Sheriff’s Office.

Joshua Patrick Yance, 28, was arrested Jan. 30 and charged with one count of first-degree rape.

Investigators say Yance broke into a home at 85 West Hughway in the Vicksburg neighborhood on Jan. 12 and sexually assaulted a woman.

Yance wore a mask during the attack, and it took investigators two weeks to identify the suspect, according to HCSO.

Several interviews were conducted during the investigation.

Youngs is being held without bail at the Houston County Jail.
