SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) — Mark Scheifele scored the go-ahead score with 4:14 left to lead the Winnipeg Jets to a 2-1 victory over the slumping, short-handed Florida Panthers on Saturday.
Winnipeg was 1-18-2 heading into the third period and trailed 1-0 with 20 minutes remaining against the Panthers. But the Jets dominated, scoring twice in just over seven minutes.

Cole Perfetti tied the game with a goal with 11:26 left before Scheifele sealed the victory with his 27th goal of the season.
Eric Comrie stopped 27 shots for the Jets, including one by Matthew Tkachuk with 37.1 seconds left. Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett later had shots for the Panthers, but neither was hit by Comrie as the Jets won for the third time in the last nine games.
Etu Losstarinen scored for Florida, which has lost three straight games and finished eight points out of the Eastern Conference’s second wild-card spot. The Panthers have been without Aleksander Barkov all season and played Saturday without Brad Marchand, who joins the likes of Anton Lundell and Seth Jones in day-to-day action.
It was the first time this season that Florida led in the third quarter but failed to score at least a point in the game. In that case, the Panthers entered Saturday with a 17-0-1 record, good for fifth in the league.
Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 19 shots in the Florida net.
