Mark Daigneault wins October/November West Coach of the Month Award

In handing out the first batch of monthly awards, it was no surprise to see the team’s performance as the defending NBA champions sit atop the league standings with an all-time record of 20-1 in the first quarter of the 2025-26 regular season.

Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Dainio was awarded the Western Conference Coach of the Month award for October/November. Other nominees include David Adelman, Mitch Johnson, Jordan Ott and Ime Udoka. In the East, Detroit Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff won.

Daigneault led the Thunder to the fourth-best start in NBA history and was named Western Conference Coach of the Month. This is the fourth time Dainho has won the Career Coach of the Month award.

The Thunder sit atop the NBA standings. Many expected them to reach 70 wins. They continue to have the clear best defense in the league. Daigneault is in his sixth season as head coach of the Thunder.

In other major monthly awards, Carson Wallace won the Western Conference Defensive Player of the Month award for October/November. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was nominated for the October/November Western Conference Player of the Month award, which was won by Nikola Jokic.
