A “penniless” French groom convinced more than 20 tech startups to sponsor his wedding blazer with their logos, pay for his wedding, and land his dream job, People reports.
“I asked for help from the entrepreneurial community on social media and someone joked that he would give me 500 euros [$580] If he puts his logo on my suit,” Dagobert Renov told PEOPLE last fall. “Then it caught on and other people said they would do the same.”

Compare Artificial IntelligenceAccording to People magazine, one of the companies sponsoring the blazer offered him a job after seeing how many companies he was able to work with. According to Renov’s LinkedIn profile, he is now an account executive at the New York-based startup, which develops artificial intelligence agents to help companies automate compliance management.
“From that point on, I just absolutely fell in love with it and enjoyed it,” he told People. “Thanks to this, I landed my dream job.”
‘My wife didn’t like the idea at first’
A self-described “entrepreneur-turned-salesman,” Renooff was on the verge of homelessness as he prepared to marry his fiancée, who was a marketing manager at the time. Anna PlininaPeople reports.
Last July, he started asking companies on Twitter to sponsor his wedding jacket, although he had to convince Plinina it was a worthwhile risk.

“My wife didn’t like the idea at first, but then we started really taking advantage of the opportunity to bring all the entrepreneurial community I’ve built over the years to us on this special day,” Renov tells People. “And then we started taking it seriously.”
