Steelers OC Arthur Smith reacts to Titans’ head coaching interest

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator Arthur Smith sidestepped reports that the Tennessee Titans are interested in a reunion, but assured the media that his focus remains on the Steel City brand of football.

Smith spoke with reporters Thursday about reports the Titans asked to interview him for the head coaching job, downplaying the situation and instead focusing on his role with the Steelers.

“That’s not something I’m going to focus on,” Smith said. “The only thing that matters is my current job. I tell people, live in the present and don’t worry about the future.”

Smith was a member of the Titans organization from 2011 to 2020 as defensive quality control coach, offensive quality control coach, offensive line coach, assistant tight ends coach, tight ends coach and finally offensive coordinator before becoming the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons in 2021.

Smith, who was hired as Pittsburgh’s new offensive coordinator in February 2024, has led a Steelers offense this season that ranks 15th in scoring, 22nd in passing yards, 26th in rushing yards and 25th in total yards.
