Clock and scoreboard malfunction delays Rockets vs. Suns game

HOUSTON (AP) — Monday’s game between the Houston Rockets and Phoenix Suns resumed after being briefly delayed due to clock and scoreboard glitches, but neither team was working.

Problems began early in the second quarter when the game clock, shot clock and scoreboard stopped working. The clock and shot clock went blank, and the score on the scoreboard was frozen at the end of the first quarter.

After the game resumes, the public address announcer will regularly announce the remaining time of the game when the clock starts, countdown when the game time is less than 10 minutes, and announce the game score every few minutes.

During pauses in play, some Phoenix players jogged or jumped rope on the court to stay relaxed. Houston’s Tari Eason took a different route, sitting in an empty courtside seat and chatting with fans for a while before returning to the court.
