Ravens vs. Packers: 7 key matchups to watch in Week 17

The Baltimore Ravens (7-8) hit the road Friday looking to make it their fifth straight road win Saturday when they take on the Green Bay Packers (9-5-1) at historic Lambeau Field. If Baltimore wins at Green Bay on Sunday and Pittsburgh (9-6) loses to Cleveland, John Harbaugh’s team could force a winner-take-all situation. Any dreams of a win over the Packers will come true without quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is listed as doubtful for Saturday night with a back injury. The Ravens have lost three of their past four games, including a 28-24 loss at home to New England last Sunday night.

Saturday is the Ravens’ fifth game in Lambeau and they are 1-3, including a 23-0 sweep of the Packers in 2017.

As kickoff approaches, we’re focusing on seven key games.

Tyler Huntley vs. Packers DC Jeff Hafley

Green Bay’s defense ranks ninth in points allowed while ranking in the top 10 in yards per pass attempt and rushing yards. However, someone has to step up to protect the injured Micah Parsons. The Packers have zero sacks since Micah Parsons tore his ACL, and Huntley will be able to run under pressure and make key timely throws.

Zay Flowers vs. Kayson Nixon

Keisean Nixon’s matchup with Zay Flowers will be the deciding factor for the Packers’ defense in Week 17. Flowers has now made back-to-back Pro Bowls, and Nixon is one of the best zone/solo cornerbacks in the NFL.

Packers RB Josh Jacobs VS Ravens LB Roquan Smith

Jacobs, who had 12 carries in last week’s loss to Chicago, is playing without injury and has 10 touchdowns this season. Smith had 124 tackles, with his duel with Jacobs being the most talked about.

RB Derrick Henry vs. Packers LB Edgerrin Cooper, Quay Walker

Henry had 1,253 yards and 12 touchdowns. He has now rushed for more than 1,200 yards in five of the past seven seasons. Walker leads the Packers with 116 tackles, including eight tackles for loss.

Ravens DC Zach Orr vs. Packers QB Malik Willis

Willis is a good athlete, but Green Bay’s best chance for success starts in the passing game and performed well against a Ravens defense that allowed 242.7 yards through the air per game.

CB Marlon Humphrey vs. Packers WR Christian Watson

Humphrey had nine catches for 133 yards and a touchdown in Week 16, and Watson is a huge magnet who could catch the attention of Malik Willis.

OL Roger Rosengarten VS Packers OLB Rashan Gary

With Micah Parsons (ACL) out, Gary has become the Packers’ best pass rusher, completing 7.5 sacks in the first half of the season, but has not been sacked in 8 games.
