The 2025 season for the San Francisco Giants has been extremely disappointing.

This is true even if you discount the Rafael Devers trade. But when you add that in, the fact that the Giants finished below .500 is brutal.
They’ve been involved in plenty of free agent discussions as they try to improve their team, but they haven’t made a splash yet.
There might be one after Christmas, though.
MLB.com’s Andrew Simon wrote this week that the Giants’ “perfect fit” in free agency would be Bo Bichette.
The former Blue Jays shortstop will serve as second baseman for the Giants.
“The Giants have won 79-81 games in each of the past four seasons and have had just one season above .500 (and a playoff appearance) since 2017,” Simon wrote. “This is a team in desperate need of star-level talent, even after the recent acquisitions of third baseman Matt Chapman, shortstop Willie Adams and first baseman Rafael Devers. Tucker or one of the top starting pitchers on the market would also make sense here, but Bichette would fill in at second base of potential weaknesses — they’re near the bottom of the league — and round out a star-studded (if expensive) infield. His contact-oriented line-driving approach could also be a good fit at Oracle Park, a venue that’s extremely tough to hit home runs but is also conducive to other types of hits.”

There was a lot of speculation that Bichette would eventually return to the Blue Jays.
But if he wants to go elsewhere, the Giants could give him a big contract and a great roster.
Either way, moving from Toronto to across the country is a long process.
But this is not an established link. Interestingly, the Giants could be involved.
