president Donald Trump Ahead of Tuesday night’s broadcast, he retweeted the Kennedy Center Honors on social media, asking American viewers to tell him what they thought of the event he hosted while hinting that he might step down from the presidency to become a full-time host.
Speaking on “Truth Social” Tuesday morning, the president encouraged Americans to tune into the awards ceremony on December 7.
“Tell me what you think of my ’emcee’ abilities,” he said. “If it’s really good, do you want me to resign as president and make ‘hosting’ a full-time job?”

Last week, the board of directors of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, chaired by Trump, voted unanimously to rename the building after him.
