Player of the Year: Peter Bourque, quarterback, Tabor College
The Michigan commitment dazzles every time he takes the field for Tabor College, and what scares opposing teams is that Peter Bourque will be back in 2027. Bourque, who had 2,929 all-purpose yards and 33 total touchdowns last season, led the Seawolves to a 42-21 win over Buckingham Brown Nichols School to capture the NEPSAC’s John Pappas Bowl title. According to statistics, Bourque ultimately passed for 2,241 yards and 18 touchdowns, landing a total of 688 yards and 15 touchdowns. While there are only a handful of other pass rushers in Massachusetts that can match Bourque’s numbers, there’s no doubt that their performance comes against the backdrop of the state’s toughest competition week in and week out.

Offensive Player of the Year: Christian McIntyre, ATH, Xaverian Brothers
How about the Xavierian brothers? Christian McIntyre The do-it-all athlete’s performance in the Eagles’ 2025 season has made it impossible to ignore him anymore. The senior two-way dynamo was a nightmare for opposing defensive backs as the Xavierians made it to their third straight Division 1 Super Bowl state championship. The senior wide receiver has 65 catches for 1,562 yards and 26 touchdowns this season for the Xaverian Brothers. McIntyre switched to the defensive side, jumped into the secondary, intercepted four passes and became a ballhawk. Holy Cross and UMass both offer one of the top high school football players in Massachusetts, and colleges are starting to take notice.
Defensive Player of the Year: Dominic Funke, EDGE, Xaverian Brothers
Throughout 2025, Massachusetts doesn’t have many offensive tackles to slow down Boston College EDGE signee Dominic Funke. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound edge rusher was outstanding for the Xaverian Brothers this past year, and the future Eagle became a sideline on the side of the field as the Eagles en route to a state championship. The numbers tell the story for the state’s top defensive lineman, as Funk totaled 68 tackles, 33.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks and six passes defended. For a team loaded offensively, Funk is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with defensively for the Xaverian Brothers.
