NEW YORK — Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas has not played for the Nets since Nov. 5 after straining his left hamstring in the Nets’ 112-103 win over the Indiana Pacers. On December 6, Brooklyn announced that Thomas had begun on-court training and the team would re-evaluate him in two weeks. It seems that the Nets have another latest news to provide.
“CT did a great job. He played 5-on-5 yesterday. [He] Looks really good. He will continue to do this until we feel he is ready to leave. [He’s a] “That’s a big reason to not have contact with the rest of the team,” Nets head coach Jordy Fernandez said before Sunday’s game against the Toronto Raptors. The good news is that Thomas is slowly getting back into shape to return to the court, but it sounds like his return may be a while away.

The 24-year-old Thomas has averaged 21.4 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists in the eight games so far this season, shooting 40.2% from the field and 35.6% from three-point range. Time will tell when Thomas will return to the Nets lineup, but with rookie forward Derek Powell temporarily out of the rotation with a sprained right ankle, the injuries appear to be piling up.
