Just in time for the holidays, Friday’s Mega Millions drawing was worth $90 million, coming on the heels of a Dec. 16 drawing in which no one matched all the winning numbers.
If one lucky person hits the jackpot on December 19, he or she could win a one-time cash prize of $40.8 million.
The 2025 Mega Millions lottery has had an eventful year, with six jackpot winners so far. The most recent winner, from New Jersey, received the $90 million prize on December 2.

No one won the Mega Millions jackpot or any of the five-game winnings. The prize for the Tuesday, December 23 drawing increases to $100 million.

Playing Mega Millions costs $5 per play and includes a built-in multiplier (2x to 10x) that automatically increases non-jackpot winnings.
Once you get your ticket, you need to choose six numbers. 5 of them are white balls with numbers from 1 to 70. Golden Super Balls are numbered from 1 to 24.
If you’re feeling particularly unlucky or don’t want to go through the hassle of picking, you can ask for a “Quick Pick” or “Easy Pick.” These options allow the computer to randomly generate numbers for you.
