Tucker Carlson was criticized for hyping up President Donald Trump’s prime-time address to the nation as a declaration of war, only for Trump to rattle off tired talking points and complain for 18 minutes. The former Fox News host-turned-podcaster known for peddling conspiracy theories appeared on Judge Andrew Napolitano’s “Freedom of Judgment” podcast ahead of Trump’s speech on Wednesday, where he claimed that a trusted source tipped him off to the explosive claims about to be made during the speech. “So far, all I know is that members of Congress were briefed yesterday that war is coming, and the president will announce it tonight in his address to the nation at nine o’clock,” Carlson said. “By the way, who knows if this is actually going to happen — I don’t know, and I don’t want to exaggerate what I know, generally speaking, what I know is very limited — but a member of Congress told me that this morning. So that’s what I know.”
