Browns line, QB play dramatically hurting RB Quinshon Judkins’ performance

The highly regarded Cleveland Browns’ 2025 NFL Draft class only has two standout players on offense, with hope coming from RB Dylan Sampson. QB still has a chance Sherdel Sanders Might help make the class stand out, but the inconsistency means teams are more likely to draft a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft than go with him moving forward.

And TE Harold Fanning Jr. RB production will only increase as the season goes on Kunshan Judkins has been a victim of poor offensive line play and a lack of defensive focus on the Browns passing attack. His raw numbers (805 yards, seven touchdowns) were good for a rookie, but his yards per attempt average dropped to 3.6, and his game log showed a problematic trend:

  • Week 6: 12 carries, 36 yards

  • Week 8: 9 carries, 19 yards

  • Week 11: 17 carries, 59 yards

  • Week 12: 16 carries, 47 yards (only win of this group)

  • Week 14: 14 carries, 26 yards

  • Week 15: 12 carries, 21 yards

In those game logs, the skipped three weeks totaled 70 carries and 250 yards, still averaging 3.5 yards per carry.

Advanced data is even more amazing:

Judkins once became a hot topic for Offensive Rookie of the Year. Now, he’s been surpassed by Fanning and his former Ohio State Buckeyes teammate Trevyan Henderson in the odds of winning. 7th round pick RB Kyle Monangay Same odds as Judkins.

One of the best parts of football is how 11 individuals work together and influence each other. This is why evaluating individual players is sometimes so difficult and nuanced. Is Judkins expected to be next? Nick Chubb? Maybe, but the performance of those around him on offense makes it hard to say for sure.

Browns fans have been debating whether the team should draft a quarterback or focus on building the offensive line and receiver group around him. Hopefully, for Judkins’ sake, the answer is all of the above, or Sanders performs well in the final three games of the season.

Are you surprised by the numbers above? How would you rate Judkins’ performance given the struggles surrounding him?
