Despite the long odds, we all knew this was coming. Notre Dame running back Jeremiah Love has declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.
Love comes to Notre Dame in 2023 as a highly regarded running back with huge upside due to his incredible athleticism. As a freshman, he drew a lot of comparisons to Ricky Watters because of his athleticism, speed, and probably because he wore No. 12. It’s hard to deny that after seeing what he did in his first year, he’s going to be really good.

What most people don’t know is that Love became arguably the greatest running back in Notre Dame history. No matter who he is and everything he does, Love steals the hearts of thousands every time he shines his light – and it’s truly incredible. He gives Notre Dame fans a true Heisman battle, and regardless of the third place finisher, we all know who the best player in college football is in 2025.
The real pain isn’t Love’s departure, but the way he had to end his career at Notre Dame. He was robbed—oh my god, we were all robbed. The mental gymnastics of the playoff committee ensuring Jeremiah Love would never take a handoff for the Irish again was a tough pill to swallow.
Jeremiah Love is at the top of every running back draft board, and mock drafts are littered with where he might end up in the NFL. As a former five-year-old, he didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called, and all I can say is, thank you. Thank you Jeremiah for everything you have given on and off the court. Keep up the greatness.
