Duo grabbed and threatened in hate-fueled attack on Brooklyn train

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Two men were arrested and threatened with anti-Semitic slurs while riding the subway in Brooklyn on Monday night, police said.

According to the NYPD, the two men, ages 20 and 21, were on the Nostrand Avenue subway station on the No. 3 southbound train at around 8:40 p.m. when two suspects got into a fight with them.

Police said the suspect grabbed the victim’s jacket and made anti-Semitic threats before getting off the train. No one was injured.

It is unclear how the suspect knew the victim was Jewish.

No one was arrested. The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating the incident.

According to the New York Police Department, hate crimes are down 23% this year compared to 2024.
