Porter appeared on the Ball at Home podcast with Lonzo Ball and claimed he could beat a team filled with WNBA stars in eighth grade — an incendiary statement that drew a response from Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham.

But does Porter have more to say about playing in the WNBA?

According to a viral post on

As of Monday morning, the post had received 1.1 million views and more than 39,000 likes.

To date, Porter has not commented on the state of the WNBA since his controversial appearance on the podcast.

Instead, he put in the work and played some of the best basketball of his career from that point on.

Porter is averaging a career-high 25.6 points per game this season for the Brooklyn Nets, who have won four of their past six games to improve their record to 7-18.
