We’re only two weeks away from the 2025 AEW World Championship, but many storylines have yet to take shape. However, things have changed with the winter edition of AEW Collision, where the men’s and women’s AEW World Championships are about to be launched.
Hangman Page and Swerve Strickland have both made it clear in recent weeks that their alliance is temporary, as they both have the same goal: Samoa Joe’s AEW Men’s World Championship. Before Joe defended his title against Eddie Kingston, Page stated that he would fight for the title at World’s End, and after Strickland defeated Josh Alexander at “Crash,” he declared himself the top contender for Joe’s title.

All of this culminated in a three-way match between Joe, Page, and Strickland, which officially marked the end of the world and the AEW Men’s World Championship on the line. The trio had already faced off in a three-way pay-per-view when they met at AEW Revolution 2024. That night, Joe forces Page into submission, but Page and Strickland seem to be on the same page that things could be very different in Chicago.
The two women teamed up to “Crash” to defeat the Sinister Sisters in Cardiff, Wales, but after the match, Hight pointed at Starlander’s championship belt and made it clear she wanted a championship show. As they returned backstage, Lexi Nair attempted to interview Hight and Stalander about their victory and what happened after, but things quickly fell apart as Starland challenged Hight to a match, with Hight stating that The End of the World would be the perfect place for her to regain the AEW Women’s World Championship.
Hayter competed in a four-way match at AEW All Out 2025, with Statlander winning the title, but considering she already defeated Statlander in a landslide in 2025, Hayter hopes the one-on-one match at Worlds End ends with the same outcome.
