British stone. LOUIS — With freezing temperatures expected this weekend, the city of St. Louis is getting ahead of the curve in preparing residents for possible snow trails.
St. Louis Street Department crews began working Friday morning, citing the potential for snow on Saturday, according to the city.
In St. Louis, the forecast for Saturday will be in the single digits. Sunday’s forecast for the St. Louis area looks similar, with temperatures as low as 6 degrees°.
However, the city said it mainly develops main roads, secondary routes and mountain routes.
“Per our updated winter weather preparedness plan, alleys will not be cleared regularly unless street supervisors determine that additional support is needed,” the city of St. Louis shared on social media.
The city said it has community improvement specialists who will be watching streets during winter events to make sure all areas around St. Louis are clear of snow.
