Michigan State football coach Sherron Moore fired, free agency

Moore, who compiled a 16-8 record in two seasons as the Wolverines’ head coach in 2024 and 2025, succeeded Jim Harbaugh the year after Michigan won a national championship. Moore has been on the job since 2018, working his way from tight ends coach to offensive line coach and then offensive coordinator until January 2024 when athletic director Ward Manuel named him head coach.
