Head coach Clayton McMillan said Munster’s “overall performance was not good enough” in their 40-14 defeat to Bath in their Investec Champions League opener.
Hosts Bath took an early lead when they were awarded a penalty, with Munster’s key player Tadhg Berni being sent to the bin.

Tries from Miles Reid, Henry Arundel and Tom Dunn earned Bath the bonus point.
Edwin Edogbo scored Munster’s first goal with a touchdown, but Beno Obano soon grabbed Bath’s fifth try.
Ireland half Craig Casey added Munster’s second try before the break but England sealed victory when Ted Hill crossed in the dying moments.
“I thought it was 28-0 after 22 minutes, we were so inaccurate and at this level small things become big things,” McMillan said on Premier League Sport.
“They set sail and it’s hard to come back.
“Beyond that, we performed well enough to show that we can compete with the best teams.

“But our overall performance today was not good enough.”
McMillan felt the decision to send Ireland second-row Beirne to the bin after just eight minutes was “a bit tough”.
Munster will host Gloucester in their second matchday two in Limerick on Saturday.
McMillan added: “We got a yellow card and they got a penalty, which is hard to take.”
“But we need to have the things we need to do better, and there’s a lot of them.”
