Apple said it would withdraw the update while it investigates the reports. The company said it plans to provide advice to users “as soon as possible.”
However, if you are someone who upgraded to iOS 8.0.1 and are now having issues, this won’t help. Fortunately, there is a solution for you. Most users report that downgrading to iOS 8 resolves the issue. Here’s how you can do it.
You’ll need to connect your phone to a computer running the latest version of iTunes, then download the iOS 8 image file that corresponds to your device. Right-click the link and download the version for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. While this issue has not been reported for other devices, you can get the appropriate file for your device here.
Use the link above to download the file corresponding to your device. Connect your device to your computer with iTunes installed, open iTunes, and select the device instead of clicking Check for updatespress the Option (Alt) key on your Mac, and then click Check for updates;Or, if you’re using Windows, hold down the Shift key before performing the same operation.
Point iTunes to the file you just downloaded and follow the iOS 8 upgrade instructions as usual.
renew: Apple has released an official fix that contains the exact same steps we suggested above.
