  1. Download Pokemon Go on Android or install Pokemon Go for iOS
  2. Register a new Google or Pokemon Trainer Club account.
  3. Professor Willow will give you a choice of three Pokémon: Squirtle, Charmander, and Bulbasaur. Ignore these three people and walk away.
  4. The same three Pokémon will spawn again near you when you get far enough away from them. Again ignore them and walk away.
  5. Repeat this step at least twice and you will notice that Pikachu has appeared along with the three Pokémon mentioned above.
  6. Click on Pikachu to throw the Poké Ball and catch it.

The number of times you need to walk away before Pikachu spawns varies. Just be patient and make sure you ignore the original Pokemon, no matter how tempting it is to start catching them.
