How to Delete Your Snapchat Account

Snapchat is a very popular social network, especially among younger users. It’s more photo-centric than the old web and is known for the variety of filters you can apply.

But if you’re tired of Snapchat and want to get rid of it, the easiest way is to delete the app. You can install it and log back into the app at any time. However, if you want to delete all your data permanently, you need to delete your Snapchat account. This action cannot be performed through the Snapchat app – you can only log out through the app. If you want to permanently delete your account, follow these steps to delete Snapchat permanently.

  1. Open Snapchat’s account deletion page in a web browser on your desktop or mobile device.
  2. Enter your Snapchat ID and password to log in.
  3. You will reach the confirmation page. Enter your username and password and click continue.
  4. Click now Delete my account.
  5. You’re not done yet. This will simply deactivate your Snapchat account and log you out of the app.
  6. If you change your mind, you can log in with the same username and password through the Snapchat app within 30 days and start using the app again.
  7. To permanently delete your account, you must remain logged out for 30 days – only then will all your data and account be permanently deleted.

Deleting Snapchat in this way probably won’t appeal to most people, as it means you’ll have to add all your friends again if you return to the app, and it’ll take a lot of work to get back to the popularity you had before deleting your account. But if you’re sure that’s what you want, this is the only way to completely delete your account.
