Heading into the offseason, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to return all of their cornerbacks starting in 2025, with the exception of Chase Lucas, who will become a restricted free agent at the beginning of the new league.
Even though San Francisco has invested heavily in cornerback over the past few seasons, offering D’Omodole Lenoir a massive extension and signing Leonardo Green in the second round and Upton Stout in the third round, they still have a chance to try to sign free agents.

On Sunday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler revealed that the 49ers are expected to show interest in cornerback Montalik Brown if he hits the market.
Brown, 26, played at the University of Arkansas from 2017-21 and earned All-SEC honors in his final year.
The Jacksonville Jaguars selected him in the seventh round (222nd overall) of the 2022 NFL Draft, and over the past four years, he has appeared in 52 games, started 29, and totaled 166 tackles, 24 passes defensed, and three interceptions.
Brown is expected to make $9.2 million per year in the offseason (per Spotrac ), which means San Francisco may want him to start alongside Lenoir. That wouldn’t be too surprising considering Green was on the bench at the end of the year.
