A child was shot and killed Sunday night after a nearby argument escalated into gunfire, the DeKalb Police Department said.
The shooting happened in the 300 block of N. Stone Mountain Lithonia Road in DeKalb County, near a McDonald’s.
He and his parents went to the hospital to treat the child’s injuries.
Channel 2 Action News had a photographer on scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed there was an argument nearby and shots were fired.

The DeKalb County Police Department is still investigating the circumstances behind the shooting.
