Mar. 16—The Wisconsin senior baseball team won its final six games last week on a spring break trip to Davenport and Winter Haven, Fla., to finish with a 7-1 record.
After a doubleheader with Beloit on Sunday, March 8, UWS swept Husson University 7-2 and 12-9 on Monday, March 9. That was followed by a 12-1 win over Fitchburg State on Wednesday, March 11, a 7-3 win over Loras on Thursday, March 12, a 7-1 win over Greenville on Friday, March 13, and a 5-4 win over Simpson 14 on Saturday, March 13.

UWS scored five times in the fourth inning of a Hazen doubleheader. Brian O’Dwyer hit a two-run homer and Noah Dagostino followed with an RBI double as part of a three-on-three win. In Game 2, UW won by three runs in the top of the eighth inning with the bases loaded and a two-run single by Paddy Kelly.
Against Fitchburg, Niles Monroe pitched six scoreless innings and struck out 10, while Tanner Voight stepped up the pace offensively by going 4-for-5 with four RBIs.
Josh Pritchard pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings for the Yellowjackets against the Loras, scattering eight hits as UWS fell to an easy 10-7 loss.
In the Greenville game, Caden Collett and Gio Barthel continued to pitch strongly, each pitching four scoreless innings, while Chase Oxborough went 3-for-4 with two runs.

Ultimately, UWS came back from 4-0 down to win the game against Simpson with five unanswered runs, including RBI singles in back-to-back innings by Brian O’Dwyer, who added two more runs on the ensuing error.
UWS (9-3) is scheduled to return to action March 21-22 at St. Mary’s in Winona.
The Wisconsin senior team performed well at the Space Coast Spring Games in Melbourne, Florida, finishing with a 7-3 record.
After various games over the first two days, UWS came out strong, winning four straight games on Monday, March 9, beating St. Mary’s (Ind.) 11-1 and Riviere 1-0, before defeating Emerson 5-2 and Wheaton 6-3 on Wednesday, March 11.

UWS lost to Baldwin Wallace 9-3 on Thursday, March 12, before defeating Wilmington 4-3 later in the day.
St. Mary’s included a triple, home run and sacrifice fly from leadoff hitter Peyton Bennett, while against Rivier, Carly Stuckmayer’s single led to a three-hit shutout by pitcher Bethany Lewis.
UWS was tied 2-2 on Wednesday against Emerson on a bases-clearing throwing error, and MyKenzie Leccia added her third run on a two-run triple in a four-run sixth inning against Wheaton.
Stackmeyer had another hit to end the game against Wilmington, and Bennett scored the winning run to end the game at 3-3.
UWS (10-6) is scheduled to return to Wisconsin-Eau Claire on March 24.
