Xbox Game Pass will add Assassin’s Creed Phantoms as part of the first wave of games joining the service in August. This action-adventure game is a prequel spin-off to “Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla” and will be released on PC, Xbox consoles, and Xbox Cloud starting on August 7. Other games coming to Game Pass in the first half of August include survival platformer Rain World, sci-fi role-playing game Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector, and third-person shooter Alien: Fireteam Elite. Game Pass members will also receive DLC content, new updates, and in-game benefits, in addition to a number of other games.
August’s Xbox Game Pass games announced
In a post on Xbox Wire on Tuesday, Microsoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Phantoms will be joining its gaming subscription service on August 7. The popular Game Pass game for the first half of the month, released in 2023, is a shorter spin-off that follows the early years of Basim, the assassin and non-player character in AC Valhalla.
Set in ninth-century Baghdad, Mirage takes the approach of older Assassin’s Creed games and tells a focused story in a smaller open-world environment. The game will be available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers starting August 7 on PC, Xbox, and cloud devices.

Rain World was added to Game Pass on August 5th and is now available to play. In this indie survival game, you play as Slug, a cat-like creature who must survive in a destroyed ecosystem, bravely facing predators and a hostile environment. The platform’s games are available to Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard members.
On Wednesday (August 6), four new games were added to Game Pass: Citizen Sleeper 2: Vector, The Lonely Mountain: Snow Knight, MechWarrior 5: Tribes, and Orks Must Die! 》Death Trap. All four games are now available on Xbox Series S/X via Game Pass Standard.
“Alien: Fireteam Elite” will be added to Game Pass on August 12. This cooperative shooter, set in the Alien universe, puts players in the role of a veteran tasked with containing a deadly alien threat. The game joins the service on the same day that the TV series Alien: Earth begins streaming on Hulu (JioHotstar in India).
Finally, Game Pass will add a preview of 9 Kings on PC on August 14th. The strategy game was released into early access in May and will be available to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
Members can also get early access to the upcoming EA Sports Madden NFL 26 this week, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II Enhanced Edition and Sea of Thieves: Season 17 next week.
Microsoft also announced that it will be exiting the Game Pass library this month. Anthem, Farming Simulator 22, and Persona 3 Reload will be discontinued on August 15th.
