Microsoft is expanding its Xbox cloud gaming service beyond the select Game Pass games currently available for streaming. Game Pass Ultimate members will be able to play select games from their purchased game library on supported devices, Xbox parent company announced Wednesday. Following the announcement, the cloud streaming service is now available in all 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (beta) is available. The company also announced that 50 streaming games are now available, including popular titles such as Baldur’s Gate 3, Cyberpunk 2077, and Hogwarts Legacy.
Xbox cloud gaming is expanding
Available to Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, Xbox Cloud Gaming allows users to stream select games from the Game Pass catalog on supported TVs and web browsers on iOS, Android, PC, handheld devices and tablets. With the new update, Game Pass Ultimate members can now stream select games they own on supported devices, even if they’re not included in the Game Pass catalog. Xbox cloud gaming is currently available on Samsung smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV devices, Meta Quest headsets and through web browsers on PCs, smartphones and tablets.
Microsoft confirmed that the new feature is currently available on TVs and through web browsers on supported devices, and will be available on Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on Windows next year. In its announcement, the company also shared a list of 50 titles now available to purchase and stream. All versions of supported games are available for streaming.
“Our cloud gaming library will continue to grow as we work with partners around the world to bring you a diverse and broad selection of great games across devices,” said Ashley McKissick, corporate vice president of Xbox Experience and Platform Engineering.
How to start streaming games you own
To start cloud streaming the games you own from your web browser on your PC, phone, tablet or handheld device, go to https://xbox.com/play. After signing in to your Game Pass Ultimate membership, select “Stream your own games” and find cloud-ready games that you own or want to purchase and stream. You can connect a supported controller to your device and start playing. Microsoft says that on PC, some games will also support mouse and keyboard input.
Download and launch the Xbox app on supported TVs, and download the Xbox Cloud Gaming app on supported VR headsets like Meta Quest. Sign in, select “Stream your own games” and connect a supported controller to start playing.
Game Pass Ultimate subscription costs Rs. India USD 829.00 per month. Membership comes with access to a range of games, new upcoming games, online multiplayer, EA Play, Xbox Cloud and many discounts. However, Xbox cloud gaming is not currently available in India.
