2K has announced that WWE 2K26, the next installment in Visual Concepts’ annual wrestling series, will be released on March 13. The publisher detailed available versions, pre-order information, pricing and game features in last week’s announcement, confirming that those who purchase later versions of the game will have a week’s early access. WWE 2K26 will feature upgraded game modes, four new match types, and a roster of over 400 playable characters.
2K also announced that WWE Superstar CM Punk will appear on the cover of the WWE 2K26 Standard Edition. The wrestler will also feature prominently in the 2K Showcase game mode, which will retell some of the biggest moments of his career.
WWE 2K26 new match types, features
WWE 2K26 will introduce four new match types, including I Quit, Hell, Three Stages of Hell, and Trash. In the arena, players will gain access to more offensive tools, such as the ability to stack tables, new available objects, and more interactive environments. Developer Visual Concepts has also improved the reversal and stamina systems to make gameplay more strategic. Physical interactions have also been upgraded, allowing for more dynamic movements in the ring.
Popular modes like MyGM and MyRISE have been expanded, and the game’s open-world mode, Islands, has received new storylines and environments. 2K said in its statement that The Island will be “bigger and more social” than previous games in the series. The mode will also be available on PC for the first time.
The WWE character roster has also expanded. “WWE 2K26” will have more than 400 playable characters, the most in the series’ history. Stars you can play as include John Cena, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Logan Paul.
On Nintendo Switch 2, “WWE 2K26” will support touch screen and mouse control using Joy-Con 2 controllers.
WWE 2K26 Edition, Pricing
“WWE 2K26” will be available in four editions: Standard Edition, King of Kings Edition, Attitude Era Edition and Monday Night Wars Edition. The standard version of the game will cost $69.99 and will be released on March 13 for PC (via Steam), PS5, Xbox Series S/X, and Nintendo Switch 2.
“King of Kings Edition”, “Attitude Era Edition” and “Monday Night Fights Edition” are priced at US$99.99, US$129.99 and US$149.99 respectively, and will be available in 7-day early access starting on March 6. All editions are available for pre-order now on supported platforms.
