World Baseball Classic 2026: South Korea advances to quarterfinals for first time since 2009 on tiebreaker

Day 4 of the 2026 World Baseball Classic started with a near-loop and a lot of math. South Korea’s Bo Gyeong Moon opened the scoring with a 430-foot home run and followed with an RBI double and an RBI single to give Australia a 5-0 lead in a must-win Group C game on Monday.

South Korea won 7-2 by five points and reached the quarterfinals of the tournament for the first time since 2009.
