The 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships return to Toruń as Team GB look to build success in a year without the Olympics or outdoor world championships.
After winning gold in Glasgow two years ago, Josh Cole will be hoping for another gold in the men’s 3000m, but he will have to beat his 1.5bn rival Cole Hocker of the United States at the Paris Olympics. Jeremiah Azu won a stunning gold medal at the last World Indoors with a stunning victory in the men’s 60m in Nanjing, China last year, but the Briton will face stiff competition from Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson and Americans Jordan Anthony and Trayvon Bromell this year.

Amber Anning also won the women’s 400m gold last year but will skip this week’s championships to focus on the outdoor championships with the Commonwealth Games and European Championships coming up.
Keely Hodgkinson is looking to win gold in the women’s 800m, while teammate Georgia Hunter Bell is also hoping to win gold in the women’s 1,500m.
