WKRN News 2’s Danielle Breezy reveals she’s off the air ‘for a bit’

WKRN News 2 Chief Meteorologist Danielle Breezy posted on social media on Jan. 7 that she would be “temporarily” off the air after undergoing a hysterectomy to deal with a painful medical condition.

“After years of dealing with endometriosis,” Breezy posted on Facebook and Instagram, “my doctor recently discovered a mass on my uterus. Yesterday, I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy and I will be taking some time off to focus on recovery.”

Breeze said in the post that we will also have results for the public in “a week or so.”

Asked how long “Breezy” might be off the air, News 2 general manager Mike Spruill wrote in an email: “This is specific to Nexstar.” [News 2’s corporate owner] Policy on Comments on Personnel Matters. “

Spruill said News 2 meteorologists Daphne DeLoren, Alex Libby and Shelby Mac will replace Breezy.

Breeze thanked her medical team as well as friends and relatives for supporting her as she and her husband, Nashville radio personality Joe Breeze, overcame medical difficulties.

“I appreciate all the positive thoughts,” she posted, “and any recovery tips you are willing to share as this has been a tough challenge for me.”
