In addition to Carrington’s scoring streak, guard Nick Boyd scored 22 points on 11 field goals. The San Diego State transfer posted nine rebounds, five rebounds and two steals in 32 total minutes of action.
Boyd has been Wisconsin’s leading scorer all season, scoring eight times in Wisconsin’s first 14 games to ignite the Badgers’ offensive attack. Boyd scored 14 of his 22 points in the first half, with help from Carrington and senior Nolan Winter, helping the Badgers lead by 15 at halftime.
From that point on, Carrington put on a show. He scored 23 of his 32 points in the second half, steadying Wisconsin’s scoring output in the final 20 minutes. Despite having the same shooting percentage, Wisconsin took 11 more 3-pointers and dished out five more assists than the Huskies.
