Wisconsin starting offensive lineman transfers to Indiana

Former Wisconsin offensive lineman Joe Brenner committed to Indiana on Wednesday.

Brenner entered the portal last week after four years with the Badgers. He originally joined the program as a four-star recruit in the 2022 class, specifically ranked as the No. 85 player in the class, the No. 9 offensive tackle and the best player out of the state of Wisconsin.

The versatile tight end appeared in 39 games over four seasons in Madison, Wisconsin, including starting all 24 games the past two seasons. He now transfers to Indiana’s offensive line, where longtime Wisconsin assistant Bob Bostad is known to coach. Of course, the team is currently preparing for a matchup with the College Football Playoff national champion Miami.

Brenner joined the Hoosiers with one final year of eligibility remaining. According to On3, he is currently ranked No. 89 in the portal and the No. 3 interior offensive lineman.

Wisconsin, meanwhile, has transfer commitments from two interior offensive linemen: Austin Kaveki (Oklahoma State) and P.J. Wilkins (Mississippi). Both are part of the overall transfer class, which currently totals 27.
