According to the league, no flag was thrown during the altercation, so New York headquarters was unable to intervene in the disqualification decision.

“There were no flags on the field, so New York was unable to comment on possible disqualifications,” an NFL statement read.
The Lions fan apparently used Metcalf’s full name in the stands, but NFL veteran Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson claimed the fan used racist and offensive language toward Metcalf.
The whole situation is terrible, and it would be even worse if the fan in question actually used such horrific language against Metcalf.
