Who passed health checks in Wichita KS? Upscale dining, BBQ spots, pizza & more

Looking for a place to eat out, grocery store, or stay in the Wichita area?

You might consider visiting a business that has recently passed a health inspection.

The Kansas Department of Agriculture regularly inspects establishments that serve and sell food to the public or provide lodging to ensure they are clean and safe. The rules they need to follow include keeping bugs and rats out, handling food properly, throwing away old food, making sure workers wash their hands, and keeping equipment and rooms well maintained so no one gets sick or injured.

According to the state, 56 locations in Sedgwick County passed food safety or lodging inspections between Nov. 30 and Dec. 6. Many had few or no violations.

Health screenings are conducted at restaurants, stores, gas stations, hotels, motels, schools, concession stands, entertainment venues, bars, food trucks and other businesses and organizations that serve food or rent rooms to the public.

Inspections are carried out regularly but also when complaints are made. Inspectors go back to businesses that have recently failed inspections to make sure they have addressed any issues, so some of the places that appear on this list may have had problems before.

The list was compiled on December 11 based on information provided by the state government on that date. It only covers Sedgwick County.
