Who is Brandon Allen, Cam Ward’s backup quarterback for Tennessee Titans?

The Tennessee Titans signed veteran tight end Brandon Allen on March 13 to back up Cam Ward, their No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-2, 209-pound native of Fayetteville, Arkansas, was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round (209th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

His father, Bobby Allen, was the director of high school and NFL relations at the University of Arkansas, where Brandon attended. His brother Austin also played quarterback for the Razorbacks and was signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2018.

During the preseason, Allen completed 26 of 41 pass attempts for two touchdowns and zero interceptions for the Titans. He also caught a pass for six yards.

Allen has played on the rosters of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals and San Francisco 49ers.

In 18 games over five seasons in the NFL, Allen completed 166 passes on 293 attempts for 1,810 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

His best season was 2020, when he completed 90 of 142 for 925 yards and five touchdowns in five games (all starts) with the Bengals.

Brandon Allen’s stats at Arkansas

Allen played four seasons for the University of Arkansas.

In 42 career games, he completed 583 attempts on 1,016 attempts for 7,463 yards, 64 touchdowns and 26 interceptions.

In 2015, he threw for six touchdowns in a game, a school record at the time, and two weeks later he broke that record with seven.
