Who got fired on Black Monday? Latest news on NFL coaches, GM firings

In the blink of an eye, the 2025 NFL regular season has officially ended, and the playoff teams competing for the Lombardi Trophy will begin their journey in the first wild card round of the playoffs next weekend.

It’s a different story for the 18 teams that didn’t advance and were eliminated from playoff contention, with big changes expected for the handful of teams that have struggled all year.

Which NFL head coaches, general managers, etc. will stay in their current positions? Which franchises will go another route and decide to move on and start over?

Here’s the latest on head coaching, general manager and other key coaching changes in the NFL after the regular season.

Will New York Jets head coach Aaron Glenn keep his job?

It’s hard to imagine Aaron Glenn’s first year as head coach of the New York Jets getting any worse. The Jets had issues and changes at the quarterback position all season long, finishing with a 3-14 record, Glenn often lagging behind in coaching, and the Jets getting beat week after week.

The team also sold two defensive pillars before the NFL trade deadline – cornerback Soos Gardner and defensive tackle Quinn Williams – but the team did not give up running back Brees Hall despite his dissatisfaction during the year.

Despite a disastrous first season, Glenn – who spent his first eight seasons with the team – is expected to remain head coach until 2026.

However, considering the Jets own early-round draft picks over the next two seasons, Glenn’s spot will only get hotter next season, and likely even hotter if this level of losing continues.

Entering Week 18, the NFL has two head coaching vacancies: the New York Giants and the Tennessee Titans.

Both teams fired their head coaches mid-season and enter the offseason this coming April with the top five picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Giants and Titans are in the rare situation of having their franchise quarterbacks on the roster, with two first-round picks from the 2025 draft class, Giants quarterback Jaxon Dutt and Titans quarterback Cam Ward.

New York and Tennessee will begin remote interviews next week, and given the time advantage they have over other organizations, they could be ahead of the curve in this head coaching cycle.
