Nonleague play is officially on the schedule as No. 20 Texas A&M (15-1, 0-0 SEC) opens SEC play against No. 9 Oklahoma (15-2, 0-0 SEC) on the road against No. 10 Oklahoma (15-2, 0-0 SEC) at King Ray Family Stadium in Norman.
The Aggies’ only blemish comes from No. 1 UCLA, which dominated A&M in the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series. The loss came without the Aggies’ two most important bats, Chris Hakopian and Wesley Jordan, at the time. A&M is expected to be closer to capacity this weekend. Hakopian is not listed on the injury report, while Jordan could be listed on the injury report, giving the Aggies a good chance to see both return at some point during the series.

Sawyer Fall and Blake Bindrup have made strides in their absence. Bindrup, in particular, was one of the early-season breakout stories, hitting .450 with four homers and 14 RBIs in limited at-bats. As a team, the Aggies enter SEC play with confidence, having a .344 average, a 1.086 OPS and 32 home runs. Caden Sorrell leads the club with eight homers and 28 RBIs, batting .407, with sophomore Terrence Kiel II not far behind at .404.
Oklahoma State is on pace with A&M statistically and brings two high-end weekend teams into the series. The Sooners also play a very different style of baseball — aggressive, physical and disruptive. Their 56 stolen bases were more than twice as many as the Aggies attempted, creating a fascinating clash of styles against A&M pitchers focused on filling the strike zone.
This weekend marks the 69th meeting between the two programs, with the series historically deadlocked at 34-34. Oklahoma State won its last two games, while A&M won its first six. With decades of history and a series heading into the weekend, the winner in Norman will take the all-time lead — at least until the next chapter is written.
