Golf’s short offseason has been extended by another week due to the cancellation of the Kapalua Sentinel Tournament, and the Sony Open has the honor of kicking off the new season.
Nick Taylor will attempt to defend his title in Honolulu against the likes of Jordan Spieth, Collin Morikawa, JJ Spann and Hideki Matsuyama. Also playing this week is 62-year-old Vijay Singh, who will play in a tour-level event outside of the Masters for the first time in five years.
