Where Mike Tomlin could land on TV if he goes that route, per reports

Mike Tomlin is no longer the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, a team he spent 19 seasons with without a year below .500.

So the world was his oyster — he could have taken any open NFL position, but there were rumors he could take a TV job — and back in 2018, CBS’ Jim Nantz and Tony Romo selected him as a future broadcaster.

What news is there? “My feeling is he’s going to get into television,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter said. That could mean it could be a long-term thing, or he could take a year off and return in 2027.

Andrew Marchand of The Athletic also said he thinks Tomlin can pick his landing spot:

Fox is considered the favorite because it has yet to fill Jimmie Johnson’s spot on Fox’s NFL studio programming following Johnson’s retirement.

Keep in mind that CBS has former Steelers coach Bill Cowher on the air in the studio, so that could be a factor.
