WhatsApp has finally rolled out the dark mode feature for all Android and iPhone users. It has been in beta for about a year and now users can download the latest WhatsApp Messenger update from Google Play Store and Apple App Store to get the new features. WhatsApp dark mode is more of a dark gray tone rather than a black background. Android users on Android 10 and iPhone users on iOS 13 can get WhatsApp dark mode by enabling dark mode in system settings.
Dark Mode gives users the option to change an app’s theme to one that minimizes eye strain, instead of a lighter background. This is especially useful in dimly lit environments.

The WhatsApp team shared the details of this update on their blog, in which they mentioned that the focus of implementing dark mode is on readability and information hierarchy. Readability means using colors closer to system defaults on both iOS and Android platforms. With information hierarchy, the Facebook-owned company means using color and design elements “to ensure the most important information stands out.”
The dark mode update is slowly rolling out to all users and will take a few days to reach everyone.
