Emeka Egbuka looks to be one of the weapons in the Bucs’ offense going forward. The draft that shocked everyone in the first round looks like a home run four weeks into the season, as the former Ohio State Buckeye is one of the league’s leaders in several categories.

PFF’s Dalton Wasserman took a deep dive into the work of all 32 first-round draft picks who participated in Week 13 games this past weekend. PFF gave us a deeper look into the performance, and Wasserman was able to show what Egbuka’s work was like.
Wasserman wrote: “In Tampa Bay’s Week 13 win over the Cardinals, Egbuka gained 42 yards on 4 of 8 targets. He forced two missed tackles and took a first down. Unfortunately, he dropped a pass for the fourth time in his past five games, which cut his PFF The receiving grade dropped to a modest 62.0. The Buccaneers will need Egbuka to rediscover the deep catching ability he showed earlier in the year if they want to improve their offense throughout the season.
Egbuka was guarded by rookie Will Johnson in the rematches against Ohio State and Michigan, respectively. He scored 61.7 points against him, below his season average of 69.5 points. He’s struggled in recent weeks, but despite his performance, he’s still been able to create looks for Baker Mayfield efficiently.
