Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Wednesday backed the new food pyramid unveiled by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but was forced to admit Michelle Obama was “right” after uncovering the major financial obstacles facing working-class Americans.
Kennedy announced earlier in the day with Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rawlings that the new inverted food pyramid prioritizes proteins like red meat, fish and poultry, as well as fruits, vegetables and healthy fats over whole grains like breads and cereals.

The “Ingraham Angle” host called it a “big win for MAHA,” but quickly discovered a problem.
Ingraham was discussing the guidelines on her show with Rollins and Kennedy, who is leading efforts to “Make America Healthy Again” under President Donald Trump, when she said we should “encourage” kids to eat healthily, which prompted her confession.
“Laura, there’s a big pushback, and that’s absolutely right,” Rollins said, “and people are going to say, ‘Oh, here comes the Trump administration, the nanny state, it’s going to be too expensive’ and ‘What happened to affordability?'” To eat healthy, eat fish, chicken, pork or beef with vegetables, whole-wheat bread, a glass of whole milk, and it will cost about $3 to $4. “
She continued, “That’s less than any fast food you can get. But we have to do better, and we’re also working on, those underserved communities who don’t have access to a Whole Foods or [Texas-based supermarket chain] Herb—”

At this point Ingraham interrupted: “Michelle Obama once called them ‘food deserts.'”
The former first lady has made the lack of healthy, affordable food for children a central issue in her “Let’s Move!” Her husband, Barack Obama, worked on the campaign trail while in office, but Ingraham urged Republicans in 2010 to “strongly oppose” the event.
“I used to tease her about it,” Ingraham said Wednesday. “Maybe she’s right?”
“Well, yeah, that’s actually partially true,” Rollins said.
Ingraham followed suit after she lashed out at Michelle Obama in 2011, saying one of her daughters “clearly doesn’t live in a food desert.”

“Okay, so we take it all back,” the right-wing host admitted. “She’s right.”
Critics on social media have long since discovered the hypocrisy of conservatives who support Kennedy’s “Make America Healthy Again” campaign after publicly condemning Obama, who even released a “food desert locator” in 2011 to help affected communities.
The outrage was so widespread among conservatives at the time that CNN last year released a montage of a number of Fox News hosts condemning Obama, including Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity telling her to stop eating French fries.
