Rep. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz., blasted the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee’s Wednesday meeting with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche about the Epstein dossier, unsettling other Democrats.
Ansari described her experience in the meeting in a video posted to the social platform
She said in the video that Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.) asked committee Chairman James Comer (R-Kentucky), “Chairman Cuomo, are you going to make sure Attorney General Pam Bondi comes forward and what actions are you willing to take if she doesn’t?”
“He decided to use the opportunity to say [Lee] It was ‘f**k’ and that’s when we all f**ked out,” she added.
On Tuesday, the oversight committee formally subpoenaed Bundy to answer questions about the Epstein files. In early March, the committee voted to subpoena the attorney general following a motion by Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.). Nancy Mace said it was unclear whether the Justice Department had turned over all records related to Epstein that were required to enforce the law that freed him.
Bondi’s Wednesday meeting didn’t go down well with other Democrats, with oversight-level member Rep. Robert Garcia (D-Calif.) calling it a “sham hearing” and Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) saying the meeting was organized for Bondi to “evade subpoenas.”
But Cuomo used the meeting to attack his Democratic colleagues.
“They came out, clutching their pearls, complaining that she didn’t answer any questions or anything like that. The first three people who asked questions, all they did was complain. All they did was complain, they didn’t ask any questions,” he said.
