The Washington State Senate unanimously approved a resolution Tuesday celebrating the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl 60 championship.
Senate Resolution 8683 recognizes Seattle’s 14-3 regular season record, the NFC West title, the top seed in the conference playoffs and a 29-13 playoff victory over the New England Patriots. The metric also cited the team’s dominant playoff wins at Lumen Field against the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams.

Senators praise Seahawks’ championship run
“Today, I am proud to sponsor a resolution recognizing the Seattle Seahawks for one of the greatest seasons in Washington state history,” said Pasco Sen. Nikki Torres.
She added that the championship race “brings this chamber together and puts politics aside, but it also brings people together.”
Sen. Steve Conway, D-Tacoma, expressed support, recalling decades of interest in the team.
“I’ve been watching the Seahawks games for almost five years, and I never thought I would see a game that the Seahawks won by kicking the ball,” he said, noting that kicker Jason Myers made five field goals in the Super Bowl — a new record.

Conway also praised head coach Mike McDonald, saying, “He brings something different to this team and I believe we have him to thank for everything he’s done for our state.”
The resolution commended the organization’s players, coaches, staff and management as well as the “12” for their support. It also recognizes the team’s charitable and community service work throughout Washington state.
