The Virginia Tech Hokies continue to add players through the NCAA transfer portal. On Tuesday, they added their first cornerback, UConn cornerback Cam Chadwick, who revealed he is headed to Virginia Tech.
The 6-foot-0, 185-pound Chadwick chose the Hokies over TCU.

Chadwick, a native of Somerville, N.J., has two years of eligibility remaining with the Hokies. Chadwick played in four games as a freshman in 2023 before redshirting. In 2024, he entered the starting lineup and played in 12 games, completing 47 tackles, 6 passes defended and 2 interceptions.
Chadwick continued his strong play in 2025, appearing in all 13 games for the Huskies and recording 67 tackles, including 2.5 sacks, four interceptions, four passes defensed and one sack.
UConn head coach Jim Mora left to become the head coach at Colorado State, and Chadwick chose to take the opportunity to advance and play at the next level. The Hokies have already lost multiple secondary players through the transfer portal, so Chadwick will immediately step into the secondary in 2026 and challenge as a starter.
A nice, low-profile pickup from Virginia Tech.
