Virginia gets QB Beau Pribula from Missouri in transfer portal

Virginia has landed a commitment from Missouri quarterback Beau Pribula in the transfer portal, according to multiple reports.

In his only season at Columbia, Pribula threw for 1,941 yards, 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions in eight starts. He also rushed for 297 yards and six scores on 95 carries. Pribula has one season of eligibility remaining.

After transferring to Virginia from Missouri, Pribula went from a middle-of-the-pack team in the SEC (4-4, 8-5) to the No. 1 team in the ACC regular-season standings (7-1, 11-3). The Cavaliers lost to Duke 27-20 in the ACC Championship Game, missing out on a chance to make the College Football Playoff.

Still, Virginia has made huge strides in head coach Tony Elliott’s fourth season, improving on last season’s five wins. The Cavaliers were ranked No. 20 in the AP poll, while the Tigers finished No. 25.

Last season, Virginia was quarterbacked by Chandler Morris, who threw for 3,000 yards and 16 touchdowns in 14 starts.

Interestingly, Virginia and Missouri faced off in the Gator Bowl last season. The Cavaliers won that game 13-7. When Pribula entered the transfer portal, he opted out of the competition.

Pribula transferred to Missouri after spending two seasons as Drew Allar’s backup at Penn State.
